There's no doubt the UK loans industry is having a tough time at the moment and now one of the sectors beacons of news, the website NPL Online, has also gone AWOL.
The loans website covers news and views of the loans marketplace on a daily basis and is the online arm of the Niche Publishing owned magazine Niche personal Loans but the site has been down for several weeks now and it's future may be in the balance. At first we thought the site was experiencing technical errors, but that type of problem is usually sorted out quickly and we now suspect more fundamental problems. There have already been several loans companies that have had to shut down since the credit industry problems started to take hold late last year, so perhaps it should not come as a complete surprise when a publication funded by advertising falls on hard times too.
Loan companies such as Elephant Loans, Black and White Loans, SPPL, Picture the Loan and Freedom Finance have all suffered recently as wholesale lending markets close ranks and companies experience difficulties in raising cash parcels for lending.
